Carole Continued...

Our third day here on the Cape was spent in Boston….this was a trip down memory lane for me. Leslie, Diana and I were here about 6 years ago and had a blast shopping in Quincy Market and Fanieul Hall. It looks about the same girls and I did purchase some little souvenirs for you. The four of us however, walked to the original Cheers and had some beer and dinner and of course we had a lot of cheer! Pictures to be downloaded later. The drive to Boston was fraught with the dreaded “wrong turn” which impacted us the whole day as it took about 4 hours to get there instead of 2, other than that, the trip was uneventful and we have all noticed that the interstates are not cluttered with billboards and other signs, so it is very clean looking and refreshing. It was good to be back in Boston and they have completed the Big Dig and it seems to work well for travelers. So, “we are at the library” seems to be the phrase of the day. It was a priceless comment made by Carolyn when she was talking to Jimmy on the phone and we really were headed to the library to connect to the Wi-Fi at about 10pm with so much cackling in the background that Jimmy even asked if that was the name of a bar! But it was the truth and now no matter where we are, we are “at the library”. And being at the library was it’s own experience in that we met an “agent of the FBI” out solving cases…..I will let Carolyn elaborate on that one!

Today, our fourth day was spent back in Ptown out in the Gulf of Maine watching for whales and WOW did we see some whales. We must have gone right to their feeding grounds because they did come right up to the boats and put on a show for us. The flukes extending out of the waters as they propelled down into the deep is truly a breathtaking sight. They are gentle giants and magnificent creatures who share this planet and I hope they will continue to survive all the changes occurring on the earth. On a personal note, I about froze to death….no surprise there to anyone, the wind on the ocean is strong and cold, the sky was overcast and misty. We have a great shot of Terry as she portrays the Druid culture from 1000 years ago. This picture will follow. More to come.
